Prof. Dr. Marek W. Urban is the J.E. Sirrine Foundation Endowed Chair and Professor of Materials Science
and Engineering and Chemistry (courtesy) Departments at Clemson University, USA. Prior to joining Clemson University,
Marek was a professor, department chair, and director of the Materials Research Science and Engineering (MRSEC)
and Industry/University Cooperative Research (I/U CRC) Centers funded by the National Science Foundation.
He is a Fellow of the American Association for Advancement of Science (AAAS), the American Chemical Society (ACS) PMSE,
the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and the American Institute of Chemists (AIC). Aside from interests in self-healing polymers,
Marek’s research group's current efforts focus on developing materials with ‘living-like’ and signaling functions
driven by dipolar and ionic interactions.

Prof Dr Chaoying Wan has mainly worked on macromolecular design, reactive processing of multiphase and
multicomponent polymer nanocomposites, and understanding the relationship of microstructure-functionality-processing
of polymer nanocomposites for automotive and energy applications.

Professor Al-Tabbaa has over 30 years of experience in infrastructure materials with a focus on sustainability
and resilience. She worked on self-healing in different cementitious materials - cemented soils, grouts,
~ mortar and concrete - and on all stages of development - from the synthesis of self-healing materials and
products all the way to field trials and commercial deployment.

Dr. Olga Speck studied Biology and Sports Science at the University of Freiburg (Germany) and received
her PhD in 2003 on oscillation damping in plants. Since 2002, she has been supervising research and development
projects within her research interests of (i) functional morphology and biomechanics of plants,
(ii) bioinspired material systems such as self-repairing material systems, adaptive material systems and composite materials,
(iii) biomimetics and sustainable technology development, and (iv) education and training in biomechanics and biomimetics.

Dr. Amaël Cohades is a Materials Science Engineer from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland.
Amaël earned his PhD in 2018 on self-healing composites from the Laboratory for processing of advanced composites (LPAC) at EPFL.
From this technology, he is the co-founder and CEO of CompPair Technologies Ltd. CompPair brings on the market healable
and sustainable composite material solutions to improve circularity.

Wolfgang Binder aqcuired his PhD (Organic Chemistry) in 1995 (University of Vienna), followed by two PostDoctoral stays (USA/Emory-University - Atlanta), subsequently starting his Habilitation in Macromolecular Chemistry at the TU-Wien). After two Visiting Professorships (University of Montpellier and Paris, both in France) he is a Full Professor of Polymer Science since 2007 at Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany). His research areas include polymer synthesis, electrolytes, self-healing materials and biopolymers used in medicine and diagnostics.
